"MONDAY IS NOT THE DAY TO BE BACK AT THE GRINDSTONE. MONDAY IS THE DAY TO BE BACK AT YOUR PASSI

Here is The Monday Motivation (TMM) for you! Have a super wonderful week ahead.

As one of Home Hospice Association’s co-founders, every day I feel so proud of the work that we do. Starting HHA was important to me because in my heart I could not imagine anything more devastating than knowing someone was dying alone. My work on The Bello Project is particularly important to me and I remember our first major milestone.

In June 2015 I was able to present The Bello Project as an innovative idea for preserving the human/animal bond. The presentation was held at the University of Guelph, and thanks to a great organization called the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, we (The Bello Project), were nominated for an award. I was so nervous - even though I had made many presentations, this one just felt so different. Winning would help honour Bello’s legacy and start to make “his” program recognized by animal welfare professionals. Well, not only did we win, but I made it through the entire presentation, even when I said “Bello was my inspiration and my life” without crying!

If I were to have one piece of advice for our “youth of today”, it would be to move towards your mortality, not away from it. None of us escape death and if you move towards that reality, you will find yourself looking at different priorities and realizing that by helping others when they are most vulnerable…well, there cannot be anything nobler than that!
