Blessing of the Animals - Non-denominational
Saturday May 26, 2018
This is a free event
Rescue, Foster, Pet Parent Pet Lover and Those Grieving the Loss of their Pet …
The Bello Project Team at Home Hospice Waterloo Region along with the compassionate volunteers at St. Peter’s are hosting this Blessing of the Animals Event.
Taking place on the beautiful grounds of St. Peter’s, pets of all species along with their owners, caregivers and professional handlers are invited to attend.
One of the most unique aspects of this service will be the special blessing upon those who are grieving the loss of their pet, whether that loss is recent or happened years ago. Those who understand or have experienced the bond that pets and their owners share may appreciate the comfort of such a memorial ceremony.
Those who will be attending in memoriam of their pet are invited to bring a photo or an item such as a collar or leash to be part of their Blessing.
Pastor Janaki Bandara (a pet lover and owner herself) has created a non-denominational special blessing for the day; one that welcomes and respects all. This event affirms a common bond in the collective love of animals and respects the important role they play in our lives.

The names of the pets who are in attendance as well as those who may be with us in spirit will be read aloud as part of the Blessing.
For this and all our Cambridge events – in Partnership with St. Peter’s we have entered into a yearlong project called The Many Faces of Compassion. If you feel called to bring awareness to our community about the importance of compassion towards ourselves and others we would love to hear from you!
