Dr. Kim Adzich; Director of the Board, Home Hospice Niagara Region
Dr. Kim Adzich graduated from the University of Alberta in 1981 and did his Family Medicine residency in Calgary. Over the past 35 years, he has practiced in a variety of locations, including Nova Scotia, New Zealand, a First Nations community in Northern BC, a World Vision feeding centre in Ethiopia, and for 23 years, in Rimbey, Alberta.
Before relocating to the Niagara region of Ontario in November 2016, he spent two months working on an organic vineyard in Slovenia, harvesting grapes and making natural wine. He was a Medical Advisor for the Central Alberta Palliative Care program for 11 years, a LEAP facilitator since 2007, and obtained a Certificate of Added Competence in Palliative Care in 2016 from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He has helped support to a hospice in Belgrade, Serbia since 2010.
Currently, he is a palliative care physician on the Niagara Community Outreach team and holds an academic appointment at McMaster University in the Division of Palliative Medicine.
In addition to his passion for palliative care, he loves travel and photography.
