We empower communities to help people die wherever they call home
Increasing access to compassionate and culturally-sensitive end-of-life care since 2014
Home Hospice Association (HHA) exists to bring compassionate end-of-life care to anyone facing death, as well as their loved ones. We focus on expanding access to end-of-life care, particularly for underserved populations, and work to build the capacity of care providers and volunteers to meet diverse needs in a meaningful and compassionate way.

About Us
MISSION
To bring compassionate and culturally sensitive end-of-life care to communities across Canada by fostering innovative community partnerships, providing accessible death education, and offering professional development training. We empower communities to address dying, death, and grief with open dialogue and understanding.
VISION
To transform the experience of purely medicalized end-of-life care by making compassionate and personalized support available to anyone facing death - of any age, at any time, under any roof.
Our Values
Choice
We believe everyone facing mortality should have the choice of care and support, allowing them to die wherever they call home, with culturally sensitive, compassionate care.
Knowledge
Our death education programs empower communities, caregivers, and agencies with the knowledge to guide individuals and their loved ones through the journey of dying, death, grief, and loss.
Community
We foster a sense of belonging at the end of life, recognizing that community extends beyond geography to include social, cultural, and spiritual ties.
Collaboration
We are committed to building relationships and sharing resources with other charities and agencies to ensure equitable access to end-of-life care for all.
Connection
We prioritize building meaningful relationships in end-of-life care, meeting individuals with respect, non-judgment, and an open heart to honour their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
How we mobilize care
Drawing the circle of end-of-life care wider in a holistic, culturally sensitive manner
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
DEATH EDUCATION
Normalizing death through education to professionals, children, families and communities
At HHA, we work to normalize conversations about dying, death, and grief. In societies where these topics are silenced or ignored, people often struggle to find the support they need when they or a loved one are facing the end of life.
Remember, talking about death won't kill you. Join our Death Cafes and discover the benefits of engaging with mortality in a supportive community environment.

Get Involved
Our Annual Moonlit Memory Walk brings communities together in collective remembrance to honour those we've loved and lost. At the same time, it raises critical funds to help Home Hospice Association support those facing death and their loved ones.
