Advanced Care Planning for Parents of Children with Disabilities: Workshop Preview
This session provides an opportunity for agencies working with individuals with developmental disabilities to experience our new workshop first-hand. The workshop aims to empower parents with the knowledge to help them make well-informed decisions about their child's care and last wishes. When a person is unable to communicate their end-of-life preferences, an advanced care plan protects them.
Join us on February 8th to better understand the significance of creating these advanced care plans. After seeing the workshop’s value in action, participating agencies will then be invited to request the workshop for their clients’ families. Together, we can deliver this knowledge and provide peace of mind to families in need.
About the facilitator: Marlene Marrow (Mar) is a certified HHA Death Doula with over 40 years of experience working with children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as their families. Mar’s passion for her work stems from her love and gratitude for her hero, Aunt Milly, who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Mar is deeply committed to the people and communities she serves and is excited to merge her experience supporting folks with disabilities with her desire to educate people about dying and death.
