What is your background? I have a BA in Psychology and Education from Western University, and I own a small business called josiah+co. which honours babies gone too soon.
What are the values that drive you? Community, compassion, vulnerability, and good-humour.
Who is someone you admire, and why? My dad. He is an overcomer, and perseveres despite what life throws at him.
Your top three favourite books, music artists or movies. Books: anything by Khalid Hosseini (The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, And the Mountains Echoed); Music: Sleeping at Last, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Novo Amor. Movies: The Lion King, the Greenmile, A Time to Kill.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? Unfortunately no lol. I used to know how to snowboard, but I’d probably fall on my butt now.
Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me… drinking coffee and working on my business.
How do you want people to remember you? As someone who created safe spaces for those grieving.
What are some causes you care about? I care about normalizing pregnancy and infant loss grief. A lot of people still feel like it’s something they shouldn’t grieve and they hide in their grief.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? I see myself successfully running my small business, josiah+co., with a physical location that serves the needs of those walking through pregnancy and infant loss.
