Staff: Passion for HHA’s missions and satisfaction of a job well done are the primary motivators for the staff. Organizational efficiency is the goal each member strives to achieve within four key areas: fundraising, program, administrative and fiscal responsibility. Staff are recruited through the Leadership Volunteer & Internship Programs.
Leadership Volunteers and Interns: It is HHA’s ethical responsibility to provide opportunity for those who have found it their personal and professional mission to volunteer in the field of hospice care. Leadership Volunteers accept a higher degree of accountability. Internship is the step that transitions Leadership Volunteers into a staff position. Whether the internship is part of a formal education or is embraced as part of the growth of a career path, HHA is committed to a meaningful and mutually accountable working relationship. Envelope stuffing is never in an intern’s job description.
Volunteers: Many different volunteer oppurtunities help carry HHA’s missions. Some will need very specific skills and expertise, others a general willingness and understanding of the issues affecting dying Canadians, and those who love them. Volunteers adhere to a written code of conduct that inc;ludes a mutually commitment of honor, respect and non-judgment, as they are to appear in the HHA Mission Statement.
