Sara Sorochan-Ruland
(B.A. Hons.) 

Sara has a passion for mental health awareness and equality rights. She graduated from McMaster University with an honours degree in Theatre and Film Studies and Sheridan College with a post-graduate Advanced Television and Filmmaking diploma specializing in Screenwriting and producing with a focus on female and 2SLGBTQ+ identities. Prior to Covid-19, Sara worked as a manager at Lula Lounge and co-wrote an Anti-harassment and Discrimination Prevention and Response Policy with guidance from the Dandelion Initiative. 

Sara is thrilled to expand her horizons with the C.A.N.D.Y. Cafe team and believes that normalizing death, dying, and grief through education raises consciousness, drives social change, and encourages young people to support and empower one another.
