Building a hospice at home program specifically for those who have chosen Medical Assistance in Dying. Why is this important? While legal in Canada, options for support are very limited.
Creating Awareness and Normalizing Death for Youth
79.6% of parents surveyed responded that they only talked to their children about dying and death when they, themselves, were grieving. Further, if presented with an alternative they would wish to be engage in the conversation in a better way.
This is how C.A.N.D.Y. Club came to be.
Dying and death are difficult to deal with for anyone, without having to deal with the effects of homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of oppression. This hospice at home program will ensure no one is forced back into the closet at a time when care, compassion and culturally (and socially) sensitive human connection are most important.
