How You Can Help
if you have between 3 – 5 hours a week:
Salesforce Task Specialist:
This role offers hands-on experience with Salesforce™ and how it helps support HHA program initiatives, partnerships, and registrations. In this role you will capture inquiries, maintain accurate records, and support follow-up systems so every opportunity is visible and acted on. You will develop practical skills in data management, systems thinking, and follow-through while contributing to work that ensures no opportunity for care or connection is missed. This consistent weekly volunteer role is for you if you are organized, reliable, and ready to take ownership of meaningful, system-level work.
Social Media Coordinator:
In this role you will support the planning, creation, and scheduling of content across platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. You will help turn program insights, stories, and learning into clear, engaging posts that connect with caregivers, professionals, and community members. This role offers hands-on experience in content development and strategy, audience engagement, and mission-driven marketing, and is ideal for a creativeindividual who is ready to take ownership of meaningful, visible work.
Presentation Deck Builder:
Turn ideas into ready to deliver learning tools. Each week, you take approved scripts or outlines and build clean, well structured PowerPoint decks using HHA’s templates and brand style. You organize content into clear slides, ensure flow and readability, and prepare materials that are ready for training or presentation. This role builds practical skills in communication, visual organization, and content development. Ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to information and takes pride in polished, professional work.

Team Engagement Working Group Member:
Help build the team behind the mission. As a member of this group, you support onboarding, communication, and overall team experience across HHA. You contribute to initiatives that strengthen engagement, clarify roles, and improve how team members connect to their work and each other. This includes supporting onboarding processes, internal communication tools, and team development efforts. Ideal for someone who values strong team culture and wants to improve how people work together.
Fundraising Working Group Member:
Help fuel the work that makes care possible. As a member of the Fundraising Working Group, you contribute to initiatives that generate the financial resources needed to expand HHA’s impact. This includes supporting campaigns, donor engagement efforts, and fundraising strategies aligned with HHA’s goals. Your work helps ensure programs can grow and reach more people. Ideal for someone motivated by impact and interested in how funding connects directly to care.
Care Network Cultivation Working Group Member:
Help build the team behind the mission. As a member of this group, you support onboarding, communication, and overall team experience across HHA. You contribute to initiatives that strengthen engagement, clarify roles, and improve how team members connect to their work and each other. If you want to lead HHA’s future as the national backbone of community based non-medical end of life care
AGM & Annual Report Ad Hoc Committee Member:
Contribute your insight at a strategic level while supporting the growth of compassionate, community-based end-of-life care across Canada. As a Board Working Group Member, you join a focused team that explores key priorities, shapes direction, and brings forward thoughtful recommendations to the Board of Directors. This role is not about day-to-day tasks. It is about guiding, advising, and strengthening how decisions are made. You will collaborate with board members and select contributors to support governance, planning, and long-term impact. Ideal for someone who thinks strategically, values meaningful discussion, and wants to influence work that expands access to care.
Community Ambassador:
Be a local voice for compassionate, community-based end-of-life care. As a Community Ambassador, you help introduce HHA’s work into your community by hosting small conversations, building local connections, and sharing what you are hearing and learning. This role is about presence, not pressure. You are not expected to run programs or lead a team. Instead, you create simple, meaningful points of connection and help ensure real experiences inform real solutions. Ideal for someone who is connected in their community, comfortable starting conversations, and motivated to expand access to care in a practical, grounded way.
Board Committee:
Help shape how HHA shows up to its community and stakeholders. As a member of this time-limited Ad Hoc Committee, you contribute to the planning and delivery of the Annual General Meeting and the development of the Annual Report. You will help organize content, support logistics, and ensure both reflect HHA’s progress, impact, and future direction. This role brings together coordination, storytelling, and accountability in one focused experience. Ideal for someone organized, collaborative, and interested in contributing to a meaningful organizational milestone with a clear start, finish, and tangible outcome.

What To Expect
Volunteering with Home Hospice Association is a meaningful and supported experience, and you’re never expected to navigate it alone. All volunteers receive training to help them feel prepared and confident, along with ongoing guidance from our team. Roles are flexible and can be shaped around your availability, whether you’re offering a few hours a month or a more regular commitment.
While the work can be emotionally impactful, it’s also deeply rewarding, and we prioritize creating space for reflection, connection, and support along the way. No prior experience in hospice or healthcare is required, just a willingness to show up with compassion and care.
As a busy nurse, mom, and wife, I am very passionate about where I divide and spend my free time. HHA is a wonderful charity that I am passionate about volunteering for because HHA is committed to creating positive change in communities for those that are the most vulnerable and need support. There are many fantastic, awe-inspiring individuals volunteering with HHA. Volunteers of HHA do both hard work and heart work, across Canada. As a proud Board member 4 years in, I am very proud to be one of many loving hands who are passionate about HHA's mission.
