Every card adds to the number of people we can support; people who might otherwise face dying, death, grief, or loss alone.

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members,” Coretta Scott King said. “To serve,” she said, quoting her husband, “all one needs is a heart of grace and a soul generated by love.”
— Coretta Scott King, as reported in the Los Angeles Times
Our Giving Tuesday Goal
Cards of Compassion Campaign
Every donated card brings us closer to our goal and demonstrates what is possible when HHA’s teams, leadership, businesses, and communities work together.
The donated gift cards will be featured throughout the Giving Tuesday campaign to encourage people to participate, contribute, and learn more about HHA’s work.
Funds raised through Cards for Compassion will help HHA strengthen and sustain compassionate end of life care for people of all ages, under any roof.
For 2026 Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2026) our Cards of Compassion Campaign will help ensure that three groups of people facing significant and often unseen challenges receive the understanding, connection, and compassionate support they deserve:

Frontline workers:
Every day, frontline workers support people and families through illness, crisis, caregiving, dying, death, and grief. They bring skill and compassion to this demanding work, often carrying its emotional weight without enough time, space, or support to process their own experiences. Those who care for our communities deserve to feel seen, valued, and supported too.
Children, youth, and families:
Children and young people are too often left out of conversations about serious illness, dying, death, and grief, while families struggle to find support that reflects their age, circumstances, culture, and lived experience. Every child, young person, and family deserves compassionate, developmentally appropriate support so they can ask questions, express difficult emotions, and face these experiences with greater understanding and connection.

2SLGBTQIA+ elders:
Many 2SLGBTQIA+ elders enter the end-of-life journey carrying past experiences of discrimination and exclusion, which can affect whether they feel safe seeking care. No one should have to hide who they are, fear that their relationships or chosen family will be overlooked, or choose between receiving care and being themselves. Every elder deserves to experience this journey with dignity, belonging, and care that honours the life they have lived.
Give. Support. Connect.
Three Ways You Can Help
