As a Canadian Registered Charity, HHA works in collaboration with Death Doulas and volunteers to provide care regardless of a client’s financial circumstances. Your donations are essential in making care for the dying and their loved ones accessible to all by helping us remove the financial barriers that stand between people in need and access to quality end-of-life care.

By helping people facing death and supporting those who are grieving their loss, together we are transforming lives for the better. People facing death when there is no cure deserve our attention as much as those who will be saved by research. A different kind of hope is possible - hope for peace, comfort, dignity and connection in the last months, weeks, days and hours of life. Is that not what we all hope for? - not if our time comes, but when.

Designed to help young people and the adults in their lives navigate conversations about dying, death, loss and grief.

Compassionate Caregiving

Supports the well-being of familial, volunteer, and dedicated professional caregivers in order to create a compassionate and sustainable caregiving ecosystem.

The Diana Pathway

Helps communities navigate this complex issue, and gives Canadian Death Doulas access to dedicated MAiD training in order to better support someone thinking about or accessing MAiD.

Experiential Day

Offers people facing death the opportunity to discover new experiences and nourish joyful connections.

Helping Our Precious Pediatrics

Offers hope, strength, and resilience to families navigating unimaginable circumstances by ensuring that children living with a terminal diagnosis can experience a sense of normalcy, fun and the wonders of the moment.

Hospice at Home

Addresses the practical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those facing death and their loved ones and allows us to meet those needs wherever someone calls home.

Houseless Hospice

Develops and mobilizes ways to offer comprehensive services and support to houseless individuals who are facing death.

No Place Like Home

Aims to end heteronormative oppression and 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination in end-of-life care by creating an inclusive and affirming environment for all individuals on their end-of-life journey, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Pre and Perinatal Hospice

Supports anyone who will experience a pregnancy or infant loss whether through spontaneous miscarriage, medically required pregnancy termination or the birth of an infant either born not breathing or who will likely not live past the first 24 hours post-birth.

Aims to develop and mobilize compassionate care for those facing end-of-life situations within the prison system or on parole, along with their loved ones.
