Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day
Ottawa Wave of Light
On October 15, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, Home Hospice Association will bring people together to honour babies who have died through pregnancy and infant loss.

At 7:00 p.m., participants in Ottawa and beyond will join the international Wave of Light by lighting candles in remembrance. The event will offer a compassionate, trauma-informed and inclusive space where people can feel seen, heard, remembered and supported.
​
Funds raised will support HHA’s Infant & Pregnancy Loss Support Scholarship, helping more people access learning and provide informed, compassionate support in their workplaces and communities.

We’ll gather for reflection, live music, a collective candle-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m., and a gentle lantern walk as part of the international Wave of Light.

You are welcome to honour a baby by name, participate quietly, or simply come and be present in community.

HHA’s Pre & Perinatal Hospice Program is working toward a future where no one experiencing pregnancy or infant loss is met with silence, discomfort or a lack of informed support. Our Infant & Pregnancy Loss Support Training prepares people to respond with greater understanding, compassion and confidence.
By participating in Wave of Light, you help fund scholarships that make this learning accessible to more people—strengthening the support available in workplaces and communities when it is needed most.

Volunteers will help create a welcoming and compassionate Wave of Light experience through event preparation, community outreach, guest support, memorial activities, silent-auction coordination and event-day assistance.
