Energy Healing

My first memory of wanting to help people die with support was when I was 7 years old, and my grandfather fell ill and was in the hospital for 6 months. I would go to the hospital with my father and spend every day with him and hold his hand. I felt strongly at that age that, although he was in a coma, he could feel me being there, and I was supporting him.  From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to be there when people were sick/dying to hold their hand, to support them, to make sure that they were not alone, and to ensure that their final wishes and needs were met. I have always felt strongly that everybody deserves support when dying and should never have to die alone.

Fast forward 30 years, and while I had obtained a successful corporate job, a family, and all the things that should and did make me happy, I still felt a piece missing. I was on my own spiritual journey at that point, as I felt like I needed more and had become very interested in Reiki and energy. It was then at my naturopath's office, where I would later work, that he suggested looking into completing Reiki level-one training, and that is where this journey began.

I began to explore energy healing and my own spirituality, and the idea of working with people who were ill started to take shape. I continued my Reiki training, and in the process, I came across an incredible article about a woman who was both a Reiki Practitioner and a death doula. She wrote about how she combines these two roles with her clients, as it can support the dying process. That is when I decided to make it my mission to obtain my Reiki Master Practitioner certification, along with my end-of-life doula certificate, and find a way to support my community.

I am honored to now work at a clinic where I was invited to work with clients living with cancer. Here is where I have strengthened my compassionate caregiving skills, providing emotional support alongside energy healing. Dealing with illness offers a perspective on your life and changes your thought process in your day-to-day life.

Today, I am working on living a life of service and following my passion for supporting others during a difficult time and the end-of-life journey. I am honored whenever a client chooses to work with me and trusts me with helping them through their journey. When you find your purpose in life, the universe aligns with you to help you with what you need. The feeling is unmistakable.
