Imagine being young, healthy, expecting your first baby and all the excitement that goes along with it. Now imagine arriving at the hospital to be checked, worried because you haven’t felt that much loved, anticipated and wanted baby move for the last few hours only to hear the doctor say “I’m sorry, we can’t find a heartbeat”.
At HHA, part of what we do through the Pre and Perinatal Hospice program walks the journey with that family as they experience what can only be described as the most painful, devastating journey of their lives. We will hold space for them as they deliver and meet their precious baby, as they say, goodbye to that same baby and afterwards we will help them towards healing through Our Babies, Our Grief, a six-week peer support progressive healing group.
