We are pleased to announce that December 6th, 2023, marks the return of our monthly “Our Babies, Our Grief” virtual drop-ins, hosted by “Our Babies, Our Grief” facilitators and Infant and Pregnancy Loss Doulas, Jennifer Gillean and Jennifer Thompson.
Our monthly drop-in groups are open to anyone who has experienced pre- or peri-natal loss and desires a safe, caring space to mourn. They offer support to people exploring their grief, wherever they may be on their journey, and create a space to make connections with others along the way.
New Opportunities for IPLD Candidates
We are also excited to offer the experience of co-facilitating these sessions to our current Infant and Pregnancy Loss Doula (IPLD) candidates! This opportunity gives our candidates experience working directly with clients, supporting diverse populations of people who have experienced loss. It’s also a chance for the candidates to refine their facilitation skills with the support of an experienced Infant and Pregnancy Loss Doula.
As Jennifer Gillean put it, “holding space for other parents who have experienced this kind of grief is both heartwrenching and heartwarming. Knowing how isolating and painful losing a baby can be, I consider it an honour and a privilege to be invited into their worlds of love and sorrow.”
We would like to invite our IPLD candidates into those worlds as well, where they can use their skills and compassion to provide support to folks when they need it the most.
